Foreign Law Research

This guide provides resources you can use when writing your seminar paper. Researching international law or foreign law can be a very complex, time consuming process.
One aspect of this type of research that makes it so difficult is that people often use the terms "international law" and "foreign law" interchangably. These terms have very different meanings and distinguishing between them is important.
"International law" deals with relations between nation/states. Research in international law deals with what nation/states say they will do and how they follow through on those agreements.
"Foreign law" is the domestic law of a specific nation state.
