Requesting Books
If you need an item which is not currently available in the Downtown Campus Library, you can request items through I-Share or Interlibrary Loan. Books can be requested through I-Share. Books and articles can be requested through Interlibrary Loan. Textbooks cannot be requested through Interlibrary Loan.
Catalogs
Use these different catalogs to find books in the Downtown Campus Library and in other libraries around the country and around the world.
- IIT Library Catalog Use this catalog to search for books at all of the IIT Libraries including the Downtown Campus Library and Galvin Library. You can limit your search to only books or only items available at a certain library.
- I-Share Catalog Search that catalog records of more than 75 academic libraries in Illinois. You can request books from other libraries using your student library ID number on your student ID.
- WorldCat Search the holdings of libraries around the world. Many items can be requested through I-Share (certain Illinois libraries) or through interlibrary loan.
